Annual Exhibition 2012

Our exhibition year should have started at the Surrey Heath Show 2012, 5 May 2012 at Frimley Lodge Park but sadly, it was cancelled because the site was waterlogged.

51st Annual Exhibition

The ticket-only evening reception on Thursday 12th July 2012
was opened by the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Councillor Bruce Mansell (photo below0.

The exhibition was open to the public from 9:30 to 5:00, Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July.
It comprised 192 ready-to-hang paintings, of which 13 were bought by visitors
together with several of the unframed (portfolio) paintings and pots.

This was another excellent opportunity for people
to find out about the benefits of membership and see what FCSA members do
and to enjoy viewing and, we hope, buying original works of art at reasonable prices.

Competitions (other photos below)
Prizes are sponsored to encourage particular types of work or in memory of past members. Members are sometimes given the opportunity to compete by submitting paintings with a particular theme. For 2012 the optional competition theme was Celebration. This allows for various interpretations, in landscape, portraiture, still life or abstract work, not necessarily directly linked to the Jubilee. The The Winsland Award and themed competitions were judged by Kim Page, professional artist, pastor and teacher.
