The 2008 Annual Exhibition was opened in High Cross Church,
Camberley, by the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Alan Whittart, on Thursday 11
September. He was introduced to that evening's
Private View by our Chairman, Sue Thomson, and Vice-Chairman, Gerry
Seward. The Exhibition was open to the public from 9:30 to 5:00, Friday 12th and Saturday 13th. A "slide" presentation was showing on the Membership Desk throughout, to introduce potential new members to the society. Volunteers sold refreshments in aid of the church during the public days. |

| Prizes are sponsored to encourage
particular types of work or in memory of past members. Entrants are sometimes
given the opportunity to compete by submitting paintings with a particular
theme. For 2008 the optional competition theme was "Our Locality", each artist deciding what that means. The Winsland Award and "Our Locality" competitions were judged by Bob Montgomery, Chairman of Sunningdale Art Society (www.sunningdaleartsociety.org.uk). |

| The winner of the Winsland Award was Sera Knight for her watercolour "Venice". | The winner of the "Our Locality" theme competition was Gerry Seward, for his pastel "Sparks Garage" | The Jill Seward Trophy (People's Choice/Best in Show) was awarded by the visitors to Joan Walsh and presented by Liz Seward.
